Brittany Rutherford
Lead Vocalist
Brittany Rutherford's voice is the kind that stops a room. With a documented range spanning B2 to C#6 and an emerging whistle register, she brings rare technical ability to every performance — but the story behind that voice is what makes it extraordinary.
Her foundation was built in church worship and high school choral programs, where she earned a rare freshman solo performing Carole King, advanced through a traditional audition into Concert Choir, and later performed as a soloist in both Regular Choir and Jazz Choir — culminating in a senior solo of Christine from The Phantom of the Opera.
A United States Army combat veteran, Brittany served fifteen months deployed to Baghdad during the Iraq War. Music became her anchor through deployment and the PTSD that followed — forging the raw emotional authenticity that defines every performance she gives today.
Her dynamic range moves from the deep intimacy of Tracy Chapman through the power of Heart, Adele, and Pat Benatar into the rarified upper register of Alannah Myles. She is fully capable of the whistle tone notes made famous by Minnie Ripperton's Lovin' You, choosing not to perform it in regular rotation out of disciplined respect for her instrument.
When Brittany Rutherford sings, audiences don't just hear a great voice. They feel a life fully lived.

Lead Guitarist & Multi-Instrumentalist
Samuel Clay is the kind of musician that other musicians stop to watch.
Born and raised in Tampa Bay, Florida, Samuel grew up at the epicenter of one of the Southeast's most vibrant rock music communities. His journey began as a self-taught teenager after seeing Guns N' Roses live — and never slowed down. He went on to study under the founder and lead guitarist of the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, was performing professionally by sixteen, and spent three decades becoming one of Tampa Bay's most respected musical figures.
As lead guitarist for the Steam Band he toured regionally, and has shared stages with Puddle of Mudd, Seether, Florida Georgia Line, and members of both Guns N' Roses and Ratt. His instrument mastery spans lead and acoustic guitar, keyboard, mandolin, violin, saxophone, and full drum kit.
His most distinctive live skill is complex real-time looping — simultaneously layering rhythm guitar, lead, bass, keyboards, and percussion to create a full band sound from a single performer. Audiences regularly witness him loop a rhythm track and solo over the top on classics like Hotel California, Sweet Child O' Mine, and Highway Song — sometimes playing guitar with his throat on the fretboard.
Samuel is an active recording artist and currently co-writing and producing Crimson Clay's debut studio album.
